TMT - Tamiya's Medium Truck Thanks to Plays_With_Toys with his write up on how to lengthen the wheel base on the tlt... It made me got off my lazy bum and do some thing. I bought it when it first came out. Built it, played with it, put it on the shelf and hated it. It wasn't what I really expeceted. Untill now. Now that I've streched it, raised it and given it some thought I kind of like it again. I used traxxas turnbuckles as links monted to the stock locations on the chassis and axles. upgraded to hpi rims and losi tyres. Looks better and the tyres are more flexy.. ![]() Toyota lid its my mold for my wheel base. still need to strech it out a little more. ![]() decent flex with them crappy gold shocks... ![]() the upgrade.. I know there only 3 here... I couldn't find the fourth Going to run a Rustler Tranny.. and working on some cantilevers That pretty much it for now. Mud_Flinger

Very nice, you know if you don't need those gold shocks my venom could use them. Also, are those tires as tall as the masher 2000's? If not it might look better with some taller rubber.

Looks great! Love the tires and wheels! I think once you get the body down on there, and especially if you mount it low, it'll look perfect.

all current electric traxxas vehicles (except emaxx) use the same tranny. Thats the rustler, bandit, and the stampede. These three trucks also use the same sliders. Emaxx sliders are bigger.

ahhh so nice. I just finished dropping the same tranny in mine last night. Do you have the alum idler gear in it? if not i recommend it. I took the entire truck apart after i had assembeled it because i realized i had installed the tranny without the alum idler gear. You will definatly strip the stock plastic gear sooner or later. Later if all you use the truck for sooner if you rock crawl.

I've never understood why people knock Pede/Rusty/Bandit trannies, I guess I've been lucky with mine. I run a Lehner 5300 for a motor, and all I did to the tranny was a rebuild 6 months ago where I added an alum. idler and do STUPID stuff that still hasn't busted my tranny. :? I think it's cool to make little crawlers with those trannies, but do you have to lock the diff, or just leave it open and have it send uneven power to the front and rear?

What kind of power are you going to put into this thing? I've heard that Traxxas diffs are easier to strip when they're locked, but maybe not at full speed.....I don't know. Cold Fusion Racing makes a machined steel diff for them, but at $60, don't know if your lil' one needs it.

ive never heard anyone knock a pede tranny. If anyone does they obviously have never used one. Ive had mine for...what...at least 4 years now and all ive ever done is replaced the stock plastic idler with a alum one. The tranny has outlasted my stampede (all four stages of its build up) and now rests in my tlt. I was told they would bolt right up but i had to grind down one of the flat spots on the inside of the white plastic end part and the lip at the end of the piece to make it slide on. Then i had to drill a hole threw the inputs on the axle so the white thing would stay on. Is this what you did?

Now when you use a stampede tranny the pinion on the motor goes straight to the spur on the transmission, right?
