| Pede yoke, slider problem, PLZ help
ok, got my truck built, and its lookin pretty good, but, got a major problem in the yoke slidin off the little output shaft on the axle, ive shaved the opposite side, and ive shaved the little collar on the yoke itself. but, problems still abound. im thinkin bout shaving it some more, so maybe the set screw will have something more to grab on to. im also considering drilling a hole thru that little shaft, as to put that grub screw with the rod thru it, but thats getting complicated, all im doing is fishing for tips or tricks for fixing this little, but major problem. thanks/

AHH do this get a drill bit thats EXACTLY the same size as the grub skrew that has the really long pin on it... then drill the output shaft and put the yoke on with the holes lining up and then run the grub skrew with the pin through the whole thing i have put my drive train through hell and this has solved my problem completly. DONT SPEND your money on the steel ones its not worth it!

Drill through and run the pin, it more work upfront but in the longrun it'll save some headaches.

thanks, i figgered that would be what i had to do in the long run, and i got access to literally thousands of drillbits, so there has to be one that fits in that pile somewhere, lol, and then ill just toss it on a press and drill away i guess, but that means i gotta take the gear outta the axle, and thats alot of screws, awwwwww.......im lazy....lol, thanks guys

You have to take it out?? I just clamped the pinion shaft into a vice with tires/wheels still attached. Because my diff was locked, and the pinion shaft was in locked in a vice, it didn't roll or go anywhere.

Bah, nuts to taking stuff apart. I just flipped my truck over, kept the wheels on and braced the back of the pinion stub with a finger. Center punch, cordless drill, 5 minutes Just be sure to move your finger before you drill thru it |
