Default VMG question

I wanted to know if I could run a esc like the rooster with the fireball motor?

You can run it, but full size esc's are big on a mini giant.

Thanks for the info, I would run a mini esc like the spy or a lrp one. Now my other question, when running a esc like this what should I do for a battery pack? Thanks again for the help.

Alright I'll go with a mini-T battery pack. As for the venom hex cell, I've heard those burst into flames....

well i've never seen a hex pack burst into flames before, but they were being used on other vmg crawlers, so thats probably why. (low amp draw). but they give a longer run time with more pawer. and they can be mounted easily.

i saw a few that didnt take the upgrade motor without bearings. the amp draw was too high for them and the crappy battery "bars" just went up in smoke. the esc's are not very good either. i fried one quick fast and in a hurry.

Tons of the Hex Packs went up in Flames, mine did while charging. I've had great luck with the stock ESC, I ran an 8 cell in my crawler all the time, and even a 3-cell lipo a couple times with no problems.

I've owned two Hex packs and had no problems. You have to have bearings installed and only charge at 1 amp, no problems if you use them correctly.
