| almost done scale trail machine (pics)
stock TLT frame belt tensioner on stock tranny waiting for lathe motor 11-3/4" WB 96-12 gearing imex swamp dawgs on dyed traxxas wheels looking for a scaler looking body some naked shots not a serious crawler, we don't have big rocks in ohio. just a fun scale trail machine. |

looks good but 96/12 gearing with a lathe motor is going to be a sloth. I just did a lathe motor with 81/16 and it's not too bad but I wouldn't go any lower. I'm going to change it out to a MM and 87/12

you're d shafts look a little beefy. did you buy them or cut and weld??????? that and i like the truck. i have to agree unless you're in southern ohio there is really not point to making a crawler. how about land speed record???

looks like fun, if it's a trail rig towerhobbies has a 25t motor, my friend has it, and it goes fairly fast and has good wheel spin. colin |

yeah, i made the aluminum rings. a little time consuming, but really dressed up the plain wheels. my links are s.s. tubing with 6-32 screws welded to the ends. i cut my dogbones and used solid aluminum with set screws to extend them. i'm going to install the lathe motor today and play around with gearing. |
