Default MY TLT Trail Rig: Orange Crush - 56K warning

The beginning, because there's always a beginning....

The Cardboard Proto-type

The alum. chassis roughed in, I'm using 3/8" alum c-channel and 1/8" lexan for the chassis. I will use 2-56 screws and JB weld for the chassis.

She now stands on her own..........

A little grinding and some primer make a big difference on the look of the chassis

Tie the battery down, velco in the electronics for a few quick test runs.

and finally, she is finished except for a little skid plate work and tweaks, but she's good enough to hit the trails this saturday.

It's not just for looks.....

Groovy! The tool box on the back, nice touch too cool! All you folks building scale trail rigs are driving me nuts. Got a TLT a couple months ago and have yet to do squat with it. Did however manage to build the axles today. Hmmmmmm, trail rig........might be the way to go. Dig the orange paint too!

That looks to me like it started as a small toy suitcase.

I'm curious...how did you bond the metal for the chassis where it drops down in the center? It looks like you had jb weld in one of those pics.

Looks very good! I hope that suit case is shut nice and tight.

Let us know how it drives, because it sho' is purty. Great job with the fab work and paint job.

I only wish my TLT could have turned out that good. I had a tool box on my clod, but the dumb thing kept busting open on the trail, so I had to zip tie it shut. Keep up the nice work.

Could you go into a little more detail about how you joined the c channel?
