| Did I buy the wrong wheels?
I bought 4 Traxxas REAR wheels from Tower. The chrome ones http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJF49&P=7 I go to put them on and the axle is not long enough to get a nut on, and the steering arm rubs the inside of the wheel, not letting the hex fully seat. Should I return them for a pair of front wheels? Will those work better? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJF50&P=7 Or do I need to cut these up to make them work? I've heard of using longer blackfoot axles, but I dont want to make my axles any wider. Thanks! |

Definately, trade em for the front. The offset is greater ont the front wheels on the pede. cutting them will work but the fronts are easier if you dont want to tear em apart.

I'd say yes. I have a set of four of them. I was going to narrow them so the tires sat under the fenders as apposed to out the side. But I never did.

Pede fronts and rears ar the exact same. Rustler fronts are the same as pede fronts and rears. Rustler rears have very little offset. I don't trust tower on things like this just go to the LHS. |

Great. One person says get the fronts, the other person says both are the same. SO who's right? I guess I could cut them. I do want them to be narrower to fit under my Tacoma body. I'm going to run the Yokohama Geolandar's. |

| use the fronts for more offset
Yea you want the fronts, they have more offset. But the problem with the axle stubs won't be fixed you will have to dremel the rims or get some longer axles like the superblackfoot axles. I dremeled mine. It may be tough with the chrome though.

Get the front for an electric rustler. If you have a drill press the would be super easy to modify.

AdamF, just make sure you get the Front Pede rims that accept the hex's and not bearings. They do make them. | |

Hey Adam....instead of modding the rims to get enough thread for your nuts Try using these...... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXM659&P=Z I've got these in my tlt, and they work great!!!! They give you enough thread to get the nylon lock nuts to hold!! |

Nitro Pede/Rustler front wheels do not have a hex. The have a bearing hole. Electric Pede/Rustler front wheels have a hex and will push the tires out. Electric/Pede rear wheels make the truck narrower than if you were using the electric fronts. On a TLT I think the Electric fronts are what you need. On a 2.2 Clod you want the Electric Rears. Like Ed says, the HPI wheels are thicker where the nut goes so you dont have to use spacers under the nut. |
