Cool TLT Bruiser, finally painted.

Well I finally painted everything up on my TLT Bruiser truck. All the electronics are installed, just need to make a battery mount now. Which will not be simple since I am trying to hide everything. I will either bend somthing up with some aluminum or I'll mold one with some fibreglass.

Enjoy :P

I gaped at that for quite a bit.

Its very amazing. Electronics appear to be housed in a large project box. I played with the idea for electronics, but on most things you dont have the room to mount one.

Very lovely, how is it constructed? C-channel? Cut square tubing?

Give us some info, please?!?!?

Thanks guys :-P

Everything you see on the truck I built. I started with the frame rails and built the side plates and skid plate first. The tranny lays down on the skid plate. On the axles I made a set of upper link mounts. I played with the links for a couple nights and finally mounted them. Then the shocks, which I changed a few times.

After I had the rolling chassis set, I started on the cage. First it was just the cab and front piece. Then the rest was slowly added in as I figured out what I wanted to do with this truck.

More recently I made the front shock mounts, the first ones were just aluminum. And then I finally sanded everything down and painted it, whichs is where it is now at.

Now on to the other questions.

The black box is a project box from radio shack. I picked up two different sizes and went with the larger one.

The frame rails are from a Tamiya Bruiser. The rails and axles were actually from Toyofast. The truck has changed a lot since he had it though. He sold it to Highmark who then sold it to me.

The wheel base is 11.5 inches. And I am still working on mounting the Bruiser front clip on to the cage. I want to do a very clean mount with it, so it still looks great without the front clip.

That rig is great, man. I love the chassis rails and tube frame combo - makes me want to re-think my chassis design. Good work, and nice pics, man.

The rims were made by RC-Parts, a supplier of high grade Traxxas Rustler and Stampede 2.2 wheels. I believe they are the "faze-one" design. They used to cost $90 a set while the company was still around. I have a few of their wheels and love the quality. They are strong as heck.

http://www.rc-parts.com/

Good news though. The demand was high enough, that they will be back as of Dec. 2005.
