I have the RCP knuckles and I like them a lot. The RC4WD ones seem a little weird being a 2 piece design. No need messing around with a possible breaking point

RCP offers all the parts you will need to make the TLT axles COMP worthy. No need to look anywhere else unless you want to spend more on shipping costs. RCP also ships very fast.

RCP has the best aluminum steering knuckles on the market as well as the stainless steel axle C's. There RCP ring and pinions are also the best. The CVD's are great for scalers, but they don't last long in 2.2 comp rigs. The straight axles are good too, but will bend if they take a fall. The RC4WD steering knuckles suck. They limit steering travel because they are big and bulky. |

Good tread! I have been gone for awhile. If there CVD don't hold in a 2.2 for comp rigs. Then what is the best way to the TLT axles a little wider and still hold up? I plan on getting the knuckles and the stainless steel C's. And he cvds for more steering throw. As well as a bit wider stance still being comp leagle. My TLT axles are currently stock. |

I would prefer to use one of the vendors here and not ebay. But I will if it comes down to it. I like the ones that MSD has but everytime I have checked there they have been out. I admit it's has been awhile since I have looked. Is MSD even back up and running, I know for awhile there was a issue with the stuff ordered and not getting out, cause of some problems. I know he has good stuff. Last edited by Dragon51; 04-17-2009 at 01:37 PM. |

I've ran R2J knuckles since my very first set of TLTs... they might not have the best turning radius, etc., but I wont run anything else... and the price isn't too shabby either... |

I have been running RCP CVD's in my comp rig for about a year now with no problems. The allow for greater steering and strength. I would recommend them to anyone with a tlt. That plus the C's and steering knuckles, I now have more steering than I can use. The tires on my rig hit the shocks and lower links before I run out of steering throw. |

Anther thing to consider with TLT's is the use of the axles. Scalers do not put the stress on parts 2.2 comp rigs do. One thing I have noticed is that many manufactures do not have the correct geometry machined into there Axle C's and Knuckles and Yeah racing is guilty of that along with a few others. RCP Crawlers TLT aluminum knuckles and stainless steel C's are consistently the best quality with correct geometry. I have built and owned so many TLT axles it's silly so I speak from experience. If the geometry is wrong or machining inconsistent, CVD's fail prematurely, the steering binds and is not free and the axles in general do not perform like they should. Like everything in life, you get what you pay for. | |
