Side, slightly high COG huh...... LOL

Back/Bottom of Frt Axle -
1/8" PC Guard starts as a skid in the front and continues under axle and folds upward to hold 3+3 saddle pack of 2/3A cells tucked behind the axle case. 7th cell is in line before the Deans plug, and is velcro'd to the back of the g-i-n-o-r-mous servo.

Novak Xxtra Syth Rx inside a Ratshack box over rear axle.
Antenna laced through 6mm Twinwall PC (thin greenhouse roof material).

Test her out this weekend if the weather holds.
In west Mich we have to drive to the rocks. Toooo much sand!

Wire spread is 58mm (2-1/4"). It is 1/8" Piano Wire.
I bought new wire to lengthen this from 11 to 12". It is stiffer now then it was at 11"(??). Either the grade of wire on the stock chassis was better, or it was just broken in.

I put a very slight flat on the wire, where the four end plate collar set screws seat on them, and Locktite blued the set screws. Before that I had them come loose various times.

xEL, do you have a pic of your rig posted?

I tried some MOA Cliff Climber axles I had with smaller dia wire set closer together, thinking more flex.
I got the flex alright, it would twist 180deg. and amplified the clod stall of the rear axle.

I like running at GTG with sprung and droop axials and missing places they go, but going places they don't.
Def not a comp rig, but fun.

Clocked rear axle. Trapezoidal delrin blocks and nylon spacers hold the axle at a the right angle so the rear drive shaft yoke is almost at a neutral angle.

Currently I am running an old beatup Crowd Pleaser body that came pre-painted. Two posts over rear axle hold the body secure, while it is allowed to slide and angle over the single larger front body post, above the servo. If it was secured at the front, the whole body would act as part of the chassis, limiting flex.

Anyone else have a BMV that wants to chime in?

I have the RCP wide hexes on the front, narrow on the back.
The narrow track, large tires and high COG make it not side hill well, but I like snaking through tight spots that some AX10's I run with, won't.

I have considered trying some 1/2 - 1" wideners. Might yet.

Thx for the build comment!

Wow that looks great. I have a BMV II that I am contemplating building. How do you like this rig?

Default Inside crawl at BFG

Lastnight, some crawling between my BMV and 1.9scaler.

Not bad flex for a piano wire BMV chassis.
