| Project rock racer redux...
So I built my first tuber a little while back. I wanted it to be a rock racer, but it turns out it was a great crawler instead. The link geometry was ok but the shock angles were horrible and it would flip and roll as soon as I turned sharp. well, I did a little research(based off my 1:1 rig compared to my buddies 1:1 rock racer and I think I have it figured out. You can see that I went with a far shorter link setup in the front and a average length set in the rear. My rear uppers are longer and fronts shorter,in order to induce antisquat and squat respectively. It doesn't have a ton of flex, due to stiffer springs and a little binding which i'll correct. Specs: Orion 15T double Tazer ESC Axial tranny TLT axles w/ AL knuckles Homemade chassis(still not finished) I am still debating whether I will add weight and braze on metal body panels or go with lexan and do a slkick paint job.I'm leaning toward the latter. Let me know what you think. The basic framework: The additions Last edited by Nylintbucket; 10-02-2009 at 08:57 PM. |

As you can see, I still need to blow it apart and do the grinding, smoothing painting process. The chassis itself will be painted with hammered charcoal color and the panels will be marbled green(gotta love having a dad that painted show cars when you were young eh?) EDIT: I forgot.....its getting some more triangulation too. |

Looks cool! Subscribed to see how it turns out. I did a similar shock hoop on the front of my bug tuber.

welp. turns out it is fast. too fast. Can't even keep it on all four. Gonna have to drop a 20T in it and see how it goes. Maybe i'll build a 4x2 buggy with the 15T
