| TLT-10 back online!
Well... Almost... A while back, actually after the August 8th filmability crawl, I toasted a bearing on the TLT top shaft and nuked a pulley: Oh and I bent one of my steering links... Well, after moving up to college I left the TLT at home and had my 1:1 break down, but with the 1:1 fixed for cheaper than I thought, me being on the Air Force pay roll finally, and a hobbytown 10 min away, I have rebuilt the TLT. I just picked up the bearing today, and new pulleys. They didn't have aluminum ones unfortunately. I also switched around my link mounts on the axle, in the Wookie type persuasion. I want an integy lathe motor, but I'll have to deal with my stock motor for now... Anyway, I have to buy 4 more screws and locknuts to complete the suspension setup and then my truck will be crawling again... I'm definately excited about that. Hey Rock1024, if you read this, I want to crawl sometime soon, just not this weekend. You said you had some nice 2.2 crawler spots here in Ft. Collins. |

Yeah I am keeping the belt. Its the only belt that I have that works, and ordering from tamiya is too hard to do (I only deal with LHS's because I don't use credit cards or checking). I think the reason it got destroyed like that was because the bearing was seizing. It should be fine now... Luckily the package came with two pulleys in case I am wrong. Here are some pics: |

Oi.... good question... I was going to say tomorrow... I don't have time tonight, and I have uniform inspections and a physics test tomorrow... friday classes all day and then I am going down to denver to move my mom into her new home.... How about early next year? I might drive it around the halls, but an actual test looks quite a few days away. Have you tried teh HPI belt? |

Those are HPI wheel right? I was looking at them, I need new wheels because I stripped my pede wheels. Could you get a pic of the back? I want to see if theres enough beef around the hex.

The widest offset wheels I have ever found were from an XTM Bullet. They are almost 3/16" more offset than the HPI or Traxxas wheels. Unfortunately they only come in white. One other feature that's nice is that they don't use a hex. It will bolt right on to the axle using only the stock rollpin. I have twisted three hexes out of HPI wheels with a Graupner 3.8:1 gear reduction and got sick of it. http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/149241.asp |
