Default Need advice on wheel wideners and shocks.

Well i just got my chassis, tranny, axles and some other parts that i need to get my first TLT build going. Im finding myself having a tough time getting wheel wideners and shocks. Where could i get wheel wideners for 12mm 2.2 wheels? Ive checked TCS crawlers and other sites and i cant find them. Also....whats a good shock to run for a 2.2 crawler? Ive been looking at Integy MSR 10 shocks (i think thats what they are called) but i just want to get an idea on what to run. Thanx!!

First question; What are you trying to build? Comp, Scale, Top truck, Basher

As for wheel wideners, Have you looked at www.rcpcrawlers.com ? try them out.

For shocks, I run the Traxxas Big Bore shocks, love em. Have no problems of any kind.
Hope this helps.

Well i`m not to sure yet on what to build. I`m just building an overall crawler i guess...not building it towards any classification or anything. Maybe just a basher i guess. Ive tried RCP and i cant find anything on there.

Yea i agree! Im in the same boat as you Mudsy....im just getting into TLTs and they are great and all, but the parts are kinda hard to get. Thats why i got into TLTs because of the more availability of parts rather on the other hand im always looking or making something for my Super.

I had a similar problem and I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but I ended up using these
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRTN0&P=Z
They are a hair over two inches long, which is about a half inch longer than stock, I made some spacers to fill the gap and they seem to work pretty well.

With the two bearings and a spacer it's pretty stable, I didn't abused the axels that much, with some heavy bashing the bearings might wear out quicker or maybe some thing could break. I did this mod a while ago, those same stub shafts are now on an old Kyosho nitro basher and are still holding up fine.

No, no i dont need those. I need the ones that Junfac has. I think i`ll order those lastly...im more worried about the little things now, like getting all my hardware and shocks and other stuff together to get this a rolling chassis.

Have you seen this? Looks very beefy and strong. It should work with tlt.

I bought a couple sets off ebay like those but found them to be too wide, I was much happier with the Junfacs offset.

TG10 Long rear axle ( SP-808 ) and tamiya makes some plastic wideners that you can buy. but im trying to remember how to get it. i think it comes with the TL-01 upright kit. if you using plastic wheels then you just glue um in.

You probably don't need the wide ones you probably only need a 1/4" per axle = 1/2" overall.
