Default Delrin Buggy

Well I have the shop closed for a bit while we try to get the new baby to listen to reason....

So in the small amount of free time I've had I've been working on a 1.9 Buggy made from delrin sheet.

I started with a regular full size drawing and than went to PC after that I cut it in vinyl and quickly mocked it up in styrene. Several changes later I had something I liked, funny how it looks great on paper and on the monitor yet looks funny when built.

Anyways here's the first mock-up

and a few slight changes and the panels are now seperate.

More Changes...............

More Screw ups..............

and More Changes..............

as it turns out working late at night waiting for the baby to fall asleep isn't a good use of time, it just leads to moments of WTF! was I thinking when I cut that?

Here's a disaster of a cut in polycarbonate, I needed a prototype and I had scrap lexan laying around, now it's all nice and cut up ready for the trash....LOL

More Changes

Hopefully this is my last screw up and the next cut will be the final cut. This design is real close to the latest version and since the geotmetry won't change I'll use it for testing.

Thanks, I just design stuff I like and or want.

Well I threw it together for a quick test drive. I really like it, even with my "What's on the Table" links. The suspension is to stiff, the Axial Springs are really stiff, I'll probably change to a single buggy spring.

Well I need to do some more testing to test the concept and than order a bunch of parts.
