Default My completed TLT **updated** 04/10/06 new pics

Ive been hanging out in the forum for a while workin on my truck hoping it wouldn't be too crappy . The base of the truck is an RBX chassis with a standard pede tranny. for links i used 108mm traxxas links and used some left over rod ends. For shocks i used traxxas big bores with losi orange springs and a losi blue in the rear left corner to try and stop retard twist. For electronics I have a novak XRS and for the motor a reedy MVP. Only servo i had on hand was the sucky futaba that comes with every futaba radio. For wheels i narrowed stock stampede fronts and slapped on some Imex Swamp Dawgs. Well I thinked i covered everything flame away.

*edit* deleted the crappy huge pics.

You should try and lower it to about 3". It will help out with your COG.

in the beginning i had a Proline razorback quad body on it and the battery sat on that top plate. I wanted to move the batt to the front but was lazy and didnt feel like moving all of my electronics theres the story behind that.

Default **update** 9:45 04/04/06

I guess the truck got a well deserved update.
prior to the changes it had a high CG amd a stupid plate on the top of it that really was useless.

First thing I did was remove the plate seeing as it was nothing but excess weight. I moved the electronics to the chassis and moved the battery to the front just doing this made it much less top heavy. To fix my CG i cut the springs bringing my CG to 3". Is there any trick to keeping your cut springs on the shock? mine tend to spin up on the shock.

I also did a few minor things like moving the steering link on top of the knuckle and getting rid of the funny neon green link. The crappy rustler shell got hacked as well leaving just the cab. This body is just a temporary beater shell till I get to painting my new body.

I have a set of Gmade wideners on order and they should be here in the next week. Ialso have plans of picking up a lathe or at least a smaller pinion. (I just realized it was a 16t oops). hope im headin on the right track.

flame away

Looks good to me, but what do I know, I'm a noobie.

Check out our MN crawlers thread in the get together section.
We're always looking for crawlers in Mn to join our now forming crawling club.

Naming this thread as "my completed tlt" was a bad idea because i keep finding different setups and keep changing it around so its never going to be complete. This setup though feels alot stronger than my first my only problem is power which should be fixed when my lathe comes in. (dang backorder!) other than that it handles the rocks well but then again I wouldn't know the difference between crap and gold being the newbie I am.

heres some new pics with the new setup.
