Default Project "Uber Crawler"

Well i'm new and lol this TLT is a pos the way it is and the stock gear just sucks. So i'll take a crack at building an uber crawler. It will consist of the stock chassis and a stealth transmission and longer linkages. I'll try to get the best i can out of the coins i find in my pocket. Hopefully i can save up for an SW2 chassis, a dream chassis only i can see in pictures . Anyway... The chassis is currently stretched to 9" from stock =P

Uber specs

Novak Reactor
Silver Can w/23T pinion [yea i know wtf?]
Jr 250 servo [front]
Pede' tires/rims in the rear
Mashers on the front [half life left and on unknown rims]
Suzuki unknown mini body off i think a tamiya M chassis
Center diff locked [epoxy/screws] yes i still have a belt drive
Front and rear not yet locked

Next purchases:

55T lathe motor <---This will be done tomorrow
Smaller pinion? 10T? [where can i find smaller pinions?] <--- this will also be done
3 channel radio/receiver [prob. a TRX one]
4 maxx shocks
Longer links?
SW2 chassis [long time before i get it]

Here it is... Sooo far....

Well at least the rear needs to be locked it is gonna do any kind of off-roading. You got a nice start it sounds like all you need is some money.

...okay, let me tell you a few things. First, those tires are a bit...odd. I'm suprised nobody has flamed you for posting that thing on here yet. The rear tires aren't pede tires, they are Sledgehammer tires on pede rims, and the fronts are plain Mashers. (not 2k) The truck needs some work. Ditch the cantilevers, and dremel down the chassis so it's smaller, and you'll get some more center clearance. Ditch the body and get an ST one, that one's CG might be a bit high. WTF is up with the springs when the truck is flexing? Or is it just me?

One Its an uber crawler for a reason!!! Second, i'm still working on it. LOL yes the rims/tires are a bit wack but hell i have no choice at the moment. As for the body i'll get one soon. Be patient as money doesn't grow on tree's for me...

**But still anyone know if i can use maxx sliders on the stock tlt tranny?

nice build off a tight budget!! and as far as the mak sliders on the stock tranny, i don't think so, i tried it , but stambpede sliders will fit with a bit of dremel work!!!, i'd also suggest taking the shocks from where they are now, mounting them on the axle where the cant. pushrod is, and mounting the tops on the chassis where the cant.'s are now. that's just my $.02 though....
