i was wondering... what exactly is a tlt capable of. as far as articulation and such goes. they look cheap enough to build from scratch. and could possibly be made to be not so ugly. btw how hard is it to make my own plates. (chassis plates)

well, if you build it for articulation you could get more than 90 degrees if you wanted. thats just silly though. 70 degrees is plenty IMO. they are fairly easy to build from scratch, have you ever built a kit before? if so what brand? making chassis plates isnt too hard as long as you have a scroll saw, jig saw, or a good hack saw. it just takes time and patience. a center punch really helps to get all the holes right too. |

with the extension i have and the way i have setup the stock suspesion, i can articulate a poweraide bottle easily, and the ugly part, if you extend it it will look much better.

ok the reason i was asking about the chassis plate is because my dad wanted to make one for a txt-1(i want one of those more than anything) but he was thinking stainless but im thinking that that would be way to heavy

weight isnt too much of an issue. whats bad about stainless is cutting it. if you have the tools, do it. sure, its a bit heavier, but as long as your center of gravity stays low you get more traction with more weight.
