Default Pede Trans Problem

So I'm finally building my TLT's....took me long enough I know.

When I was assembling the pede tranny, the pin would not go into the #1993 top shaft. Anyone else have a problem with this? I ended up pressing it in and it snapped off inside the hole and that was just the roll pin not the #2754 pin....

Did a search and found no other related situation.

i had this prolem, too. what i ended up doing was DRILLING OUT the hole to 3/32" with an older 3/32 bit, and cutting off the smooth end that gets chucked to the proper length. then i did a but of grinding to the idler gear so that it would seat right. it looks and feels bullet-proof, and i have yet to have any problems with it.

I have had the same problem many times. That is the worst part of building a Pede tranny.

Ok, good to know. Gotta go get a new shaft cause I cannot for the life of me get out the stuck piece.

To get the roll pin out, use a fine set of side cutters and grab on to the pin and rock and pull on the pin to remove. Some times I have to regrab lower several times to remove.

To install, first hand push in to start with just enough to hold in place. Then I use a regular set of flat house hold pliers and gently push the pin in. If you hold the pliers right tey should be offset to clear as the pin comes out the other side.

Actually the pin broke off inside. I tried everything to get it out. Just won't budge for some reason. I just bought a new shaft and pre-drilled it before inserting the pin. Worked fine and it was still snug.
