Default Crazy, stupid, or sensible?

As if you couldn't tell from some of my previous posts my brain is always working (usually against me ). Anyhow, I have a TXT partially disassembled that I was going to use for a large crawler. Then I found the scale crawlers and really like them. I already have Swamp Dawgs and a TLT on its way from Ultimate Hobbies. I was going to sell the TXT but have recently been thinking about using the chassis, tranny, and driveshafts with TLT axles??????? The wheelbase would actually need to be tightened up just a skootch, I think stock is 13", I am looking for 11.5". Mount the tranny up higher, but lower the whole chassis to keep a low COG. So what do you think???? Dont be afraid to let me know if this is retarded .

Sounds alot like this one:

Saw another person do it one RCMT. Go for it! Hack the bottom off like the other TXT crawlers do, and if you can make two, 3cell battery packs you can mount to the axles. Unless you want to keep the axles clutter free. If you're going to do a TXT/TLT hybrid, make sure you check out all the tricks one can do with a TXT chassis by cruising the TXT forums.

Now I gotta hurry up and get the heck out of work so I can go do some playing around to see what I can do with it . That is similar to what I was thinking of - just with 2.2 tires. With any luck I will have a start on this project before Christmas and get some picks up. As for the batteries I already have 3 2400mah Peak packs - not going to invest anymore in batteries since I am racing nitro in the summer. I would like to mount the batter up in front of the tranny, long way, set in and down in the frame.

Or you could keep the trucks seperate and build two crawlers.
I think people run Stampede transmissions on most of the TLT projects.

Tell her she could drive one then. My wife like running my cars/trucks around. She likes the Mini-t the best though, not the crawlerz.

Oh, well I'll take what I can get.

I'm working on a similar project. I cut the TXT chassis and I'm using an e-maxx tranny. So far I like the way it's looking.

The wheelbase is right at 13". I still have some work to do on it just have'nt had time. I really want to run the savage shocks but, I'm not sure if they will work like I want to.
