| 1/4 Scale Servo's?
As anyone tried to use a 1/4 scale servo on a TLT? They seem to have more torque for the money.

Where the hell would you mount it? Are you trying to run Kongs on TLT axles & that's why you need that much power? 1/4 scale servos are so 2 years ago... JR servos are the best bang for the buck if you need serious turning power. | |

These are great servo's. http://cgi.ebay.com/JR-Z650M-Servo-N...QQcmdZViewItem The Hitec 645 is still hard to beat for the price. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ89&P=ML Last edited by dezfan; 05-27-2006 at 03:17 PM. |

For a size reference, look at the quarter in the pic. Compare that to a regular servo.

This is my next servo. Looks a little beefier than the 645. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ80&P=ML |

Looks good to me, but I'm still really new to HG RC's...Right now I'm thinking of testing my luck with Blue Birds for the price. I just don't want them to burn up on me and be out 60 bucks. If I can come up with enough money those will be mu next servo also. I think. I change my mind everyday.

Quarterscales are great.....for supers. But in all truth and reality there size and wieght limmit them severly, making there only real strong points durability and overall tourqe/speed (A Hitec 805bb has 400oz/in on 7.2 volts). But you have to consider the fact that they wieght more than 3x as much as a normal servo and are HUGE. If you do decide to use wideners and redrocks I'd sudgest you get aluminum knuckles and something like a 5645/5945mg or one of those big buck servos. Or better yet get some mashers, and skimp on the wideners. You're rig will perform mucho better. Last edited by Highmark; 05-27-2006 at 04:26 PM. |

i have a 805bb on the front of my 12lb rig, no turning issues, on the back i have a 645 and it works great, for a while the 645 was on the front... it worked just wasnt enough for what was then a 10 lb rig, on a tlt the 645 is definitely enough unless you have alot of scrub steer. i have a jr650 that burnt up on me. the hitec was better

I ended up just buying two for right now. Money is getting a little tight after buying everything else. I have bought everything needed to build my TLT all in the few days.

you could mounta quarter scale but you would have to custom mount it to the front of the axle. if you want the best check out the oddified tonegawa. Guys run these on 1/6 scale on road cars.. the torque is incredible. If you decide quarter scale thats your servo
