Default XRC Buildup..........

This is our latest project which began with a take off of our SRT chassis in search for an all out TLT comp crawler. We therefore named the project the XRC (Xtreme Rock Crawler). Some of our goals were to drastically lower the c.o.g., beef up some week parts on the truck while bringing the chassis weight down as low as we possibly could, have a tranny friendly chassis due to a lot of people using other trannys now, and come up with an overall sleek looking design. Well after all the hours of running different designs and testing each thing we did we think it all finally paid off as the all new XRC will most certainly be a force to be dealt with.

We are going to post up some pics here of the XRC and wanted to let everyone know that it will be ready for sale very soon in the vendor section. Pede, stealth, Losi trannys are all a direct fit. The bottom skid will be Delrin with a Delrin option on the links and Aluminum as the standard. Our custom Axel housing ends, electronic mount plates, and lower link/shock mounts will all be available. We hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks J.I.A., run2, and Dez. Right now we're still doing lots of R&D. The custom axle housing ends have held up wonderfully so far and we're very happy with them. Now we're looking at several different link options which we plan to offer such as aluminum (bent or straight), carbon fiber, and delrin all in either a 50/50 or 60/40 setup. We've also added optional electronics plate mounts for those of you that may want to set it up a little different. In these pics you will see the bent aluminum links and one of the electronic mounting plates under the red rx. We also have some body mounts on it but at this point are not sure if we are going to be including any or not because everyone seems to like to mount them differently.

Insanerc
I am referring to the shape of the chassis side plates and use of delrin as a skid/trans mount.

I like it!

No problem Buckwheat, it?s just that a lot of us vendors put one hell of a lot of time and effort into even the simplest looking designs during R&D. Just got a little gun shy to hear someone say they are working on the same chassis when I just released it for viewing. I'm glad that you like the design, thanks for the compliment.

When we set out to design a full comp crawler we knew that balance was going to be very important. Here are a few pics of just how serious we're taking it through every phase of R&D. These are no trick photos (no weights hidden that you can't see) and the tops of the balance rods are rounded as we use this on r/c aircraft also. You can see for these shots we setup a 50/50 battery so you can easily move your balance forward or back as you desire with placement of your full battery pack or electronics.

Have you thought about mounting your links and top of your shocks on the inner side of your chassis?

Actually we have thought about that when we decided to slightly redesign our axle lower link/shock mounts, to allow inbound mounting of shocks and lower links, clearing any possible tire rub issues. Though we do not have it set up this way it could be very easily done by anyone wanting to. The bottom would however require small notches in the four corners of the Delrin skid but that's an easy one for anybody with a Dremel.
