Default associated gt transmission

do any of you guys know if the gt trans is lower geares than the electric version.thanks for any help on this

Depends on how old it is. The newer B4/T4 trannies have the same internal ration as the GT's. I believe it is 2.62:1.

bought this rig when they first came out so it would be an older one.just thought if it were lower geared than an electric tranny then i could be ahead of the game.thanks for youre help

Stock GT tranny is 2:25. They make a kit to make 2:65.

The GT and T4/B4 tranny have differnet gears. How does that different ratio kit from tower work?

You have to buy a new B2 Idler gear with it. The GT and the T4/B4 share the same diff gear, but that is it. That kit comes with the Top Shaft. You would have to reuse you bearings out of the GT also. BUt thats it. For about 25 more bucks you could have it Upgraded. Trust me I found all this out the long hard way. LOL I said long and hard.

Ya, I just installed the complete T4 tranny. Too much trouble to use the GT cases.

Me too....Racing....LOL.. I don't care to race my T4 any more so it's used for a parts truck or my next rail.

ya it was abitch to mount a motor plate to it.Iused it cause its all i had,just trying to keep the crawler on a budget.All my buddys know im the champ at just useing wat i got to make things happen.Im not completly scapping out the gt i have alot of parts for it,i raced them for about8years those bastuds are ablast.
