| DoubleDub SNAKE TLT crawler
Ive seen this lil truck in action and am very impressed to say the least. a bolt on design of this truck is being tested as I write this for DoubleDub the design uses a true single stick design with pede tranny, outrunner brushless motor, tlt axles revo shafts, no shocks, no torsion chassis, but one leaf spring???????? the performance of the truck is amazing. It is being designed to use any tranny and or axle configuration (except for clod of course) We should have it available by the first of August body off shots later |

IT is a carbon fiber leaf spring under the tranny and a carbon fiber tube from axle to axle and supporting the tranny from above, I have been running this chassis for several weeks now trying different set ups on the spring rates and this version is awesome compared to any other tlt that I have run before,no links no shocks it's way too light, the first version was barely 4lbs, so I have been playing with weight and obviously tires and wheels.Hopefully we will get a vid up soon. |

Well actually, I have. It was on a TLT torsion of a different design (not CF) and it looked and worked very well. There are many torsion design in the works at the moment. Can't wait to see your design. And lighter is better. My XRC w/o lead in the wheels was 4lbs. It's a "traditional" design w/ a chassis and links, and shocks and everything 4lbs 1oz.! |

Sorry, didn't mean to rain on your parade, but I have seen a link-less shock-less TLT chassis before. Apparently not the same as your, but you can see my point. So, lets see some pics of your design, it sounds cool. Last edited by dezfan; 07-11-2006 at 11:50 PM.

That is not even close to what we are running now, miles away! a torsion design has many inherent problems one of which all the torsion forces are centered on several small screws in one spot on the axle. On the snake the loads are spread evenly across the entire surface and the center portion that connects the axles has bearing in the brackets so the center section can stay centered without need of arms or shocks and pics will be up after this weekends event. I will be running a juggy snake for the first time.......that is if I get everyone elses rigs done first! Last edited by rockwerks; 07-18-2006 at 04:59 PM.
