Default Power Wagon SW2

Hobby People had TLT's on sale July 4th for 59 bucks with the discounts, so I got one. I then decided to get an SW2 chassis because I've already built my own tube chassis crawler so I decided to buy a chassis for that "factory" look. The body pic doesn't do the paint justice, it looks real nice, it changes to purple in the light. No wheelin pics since the other two wheels are on backorder til the 28th. First one to notice what I did to the chassis gets to buy them self a cookie.

Specs:
TLT axles, duhhh..... locked, bottom shaved, steering blocks shaved and stub axles trimmed for more steering.
Pede trans
55T lathe motor
Mini LST battery
Nosram Tomahawk speed control (I don't think it is made anymore, it came out of an HPI Sprint. It only has enough BEC current for one servo, but thats what a servo reg is for. Best of all tough INSTANT REVERSE!!!!!!)
Hot Bodies threaded Alum. T-Maxx shocks
Hitec 645MG steering servo
Metal bushings to replace the plastic ones
Proline Moabs on narrowed Proline Agitator rims. (I used ILRCRC's method of narrowing a wheel because I thought it would be stronger since there is no seam.)
XR2 radio system
Proline Power Wagon body
and of course a Bender Customs SW2 chassis

thats a really sweet looking truck . two questions . what did you use to mount the shocks to the chassis .. and it looks like you put 2.5 drive shafts on it , how ?

The shocks came with about an inch of fuel tubing with each pair. I cut it in half and put it in the top mount on the shock cap. then I took one of the 3mm screws that came with the TLT kit and slid a washer on the head in, slid the screw through the fuel tubing, then put another washer on. Then I put the inside of a rod end (the silver part that swivels after the washer to space the shock away from the chassis, then I used a 3mm lock nut to keep it on the chassis. I also changed out the ball end that came with the shocks for a traxxas one so it would fit the axle shock mount easier.

To do the shafts I just grinded another flat spot on the pinon on the diff, and drilled a hole the size of a traxxas yoke pin. You also have to grind the back of the yoke flat. Make sure you use the Transmission Yokes from a T-Maxx. I think Bender has some pics up in his origional Shaggin Wagon thread.

Wheel base is set up around 12.5 inches, and the center chassis clearance is somewhere around 3-3.5 inches, it may change once I can actually run it.

Woah, I never updated this. Well here it is after I finished it. It was also the winner of the $300 Crawler Challenge.

And here it is now. I put a Jeep Cherokee body on it to match my 1:1

Thanks! I was worried when I did the mod that the heat from the heat gun would heat up the rest of the body and screw something else up, but I am glad that it only heated up what needed heating.
