its a start. not easy to make a RTR crawler for $300 without some serious ebay bargin hunting. could buy some used clod axles for $90, then cannibalize another car for the eletronics package and make the rest. spend the left overs on tires. now i wanna try to build a $300 crawler lol. id proly just buy a tlt-1, then stretch it, but i dont know if the scale look is everyones cup of tea

boredom liteweight simple what i had in my garage. cheap. as i am spending my rc funds on a scaler with a csc1 chassis. actually works pretty damn good though considering.

My tlt, with a k2 chassis is going to be 225+ my servo=265 RTR lathe, stealth trans and all! Good luck, your chassis looks nice! |

imho, it's totally possible to build a nice tlt for under $300. i'm even using the stock shocks on my SW2 with longer balls ends and they seem to work fine for now. if i would have kept the stock chassis side plates(chopped, of course!)instead of buying the SW2, my build would have easily come under $300.

i saw that you wanted to see one built out of old crap stereo parts and what not. i didn't have any doner stereo parts at the time but this was just as cheap. actually it does really good. except when you hit a wall head on and stress it, it will bend in the middle a little , but you just have to pick it up and bend it back. thats the only problem with it

^ Go back to school and pay attention. Anyway, that is more of a forced articulation chassis than a torsion. Why not run all thread through the tubes and use rod ends to bolt to the mounts? Sleeving the links larger and larger will help it not to bend in the middle. Looks pretty interesting though.

i thought about that but then i would have had to leave my garage and it would have taken longer than 15 to 30 minutes. pluse i would have had ot rig something up so that the axles didn't twist forward and back changing the pinion. i couldhave brazed somethink up. but i was just screwing around
