Default This Weekend's Progress on new TLT build

Had a bunch of parts ordered and some of them came in so the new TLT begins. Been busting butt this weekend and this is the current progress. Body paint job was by Hapitoad. It is a bit stretched at 14" WB.

Interested in comments both good and bad.

other than the body 4 feet high it looks good. Should perform well to. I wanted to try a long WB 2.2 in the unlimitted class never did though.

Yea....mounted the body high for now. Had to take pictures before the body got cut so that Hapitoad could have some pics of his finished paint job. I will probably cut off the lower part of doors and remove a fair bit of the 4 corners before it actually moves on it's own and sees the rocks. Still waiting on the aluminum 2.2 narrow wheels from RC4WD before i make final cuts and placement of body. The wheels have a fair bit less backspacing and i will really be able to see then how little body cutting i can get away with. I expect the wheels to be here tomorrow or Tuesday.

It will work much better with driveshafts. ;)

Other than the cloud scraping body, looks good. BTW, your tires in the front and back are going opposite directions.

if UPS and the USPS cooperates with me it will be going on the 12th. Actually, if they bring my stuff tomorrow or Tuesday, it should be getting tested by Thursday. I made the driveshafts tonight. Still got loads to do though...loads of comments on the high body.....Patience Grasshoppa's....the sky high body is temporary only.

They helped a lot but it still dont reach full articulation. I am hoping that the added tiny bit of weight from reciever pack and the Lipo and all other electronics will help...or maybe the thinner shock oil, i haven't changed oil yet. I ordered 3 pair of those springs tonight so i will have the one you gave me to return to you plus 2 other pair in a week or so.

I did that intentionally, I may be wrong but i personally think the tires bite better in the direction that the front are facing so i turn them that way and the rear the other way in hopes of the front biting before the rear pulls the truck vertical and then over on it's lid. Anyone else agree with this theory?

Ok it is dropped and cut somewhat. I have wideners coming which may put the tires so that they swing on the outside of body so i am not going to cut any more just yet. The RC4WD wheels finally came today along with axle bearings. It moves on it's own as of last night but i still need to make steering links. I just dont trust the tiny stock TLT ones.

Maybe just maybe i can get past the sky high body comments for now LOL.

steering links finished....i think all i have left is drilling the pinion shafts on the axles for the pins to go through then i will be ready for some test driving to sort out all the bugs. well not really all...i still need to change to a lighter weight oil in the shocks too. Got some of the 32mm Tobee Craft wideners coming so it should change stance in a week or so when those get here.
