| drive shaft help
hi guys, new kid on the block and i need some drive shaft help. I have the pede tranny in the middle and stock tlt axles on the outsides and some t-maxx shocks. my custom chassis is only 2" by 8" but the WB is a monsterous 16" and has 4" of center clearance. I love the size of it and now I'm wonder what are my choices of drive shaft options for this thing. im not planing on serious climbing, just driving around the yar and crushing some stuff. thanks! |

Could probably use some Maxx drive shafts. Just cut the female side at the yoke and glue a piece of round plastic onto the shaft/yoke. You would still have 3" or so of travel on the driveline that way.

i was thinking of something like that but do the t-maxx shaft attach directly to the stampede yokes or would i have to modify them to mate with each other. this is teh reason i didn't get the t-maxx shafts yet I also won some pede axles all ebay but they still havne't come yet so i decided to just go ahead and build the truck first. can i modify those to fit? -thanks edit: links would help a lot! there are just too many damn traxxas parts Last edited by mindwreck; 08-01-2006 at 12:00 AM. |

Just a heads up, I had a 13.5" wheelbase TLT and it was like driving a bus around. Even with 4 wheel steering. What is your frame made from? It looks a little thin..

I would suggest make the shock mount on TOP of the chassis, instead of bottom, that will make it do MUCHO better! Here is a paint drawing of what it will look like, and yeah its a bus still LOL If you did this \/ and made like half an inch shorter links on each side that would put you at 13.5"-1"=12.5" and that would be PERFECT!! i was thinking about redoing the shock config but im just too lazy. haha Its not going to be doing any serious crawling. just conquering dirt fields, its all for fun. if i need speed or anything i drive my rc10t2. and i don't think u read my first post. i have a WB of 16" not 13.5". Im just going to shave the ends of the axle cups to allow it to turn more. thanks for the suggestions though. |
