Default SW2 chassis Qs

I bought the SW2 chassis alone without the upper mounts. What's the best way to mount my 96mm and 108mm links without using benders custom upper mount?

Using the 96mm links as lowers and at a little over 12" WB. I still need a good way to mount the uppers. I need to know how high to mount them above the axle line. On Axle end how much separation do I need?

Try to find some angle aluminum stock, and make your own.

Here's how my link set-up looks.

How dose this rear look?

Still need to trim down the upper bracket. I also fixed the DS angle by pointing the pinion up(will only work on rear axle). Can't really flex it out since the upper bracket comes in contact with the frame(will fix that trimming down the bracket) .

Using stock uppers for top links and 98mm for lowers

I'd agree, get the mount on the axle as short as you can. Try keeping the upper links flat in the process too. I just noticed you have the tranny washers mounted on the skid plate holes, move those to the tranny screws. You can use them to shim the tranny and driveshafts away from the upper links if needed, by installling them inside the frame. I run Maxx shafts and had to do it with my SW2 for the driveshafts to clear the upper links.

Okay, let's see if this looks better.

Bender, I see what you mean about the spacers for the pede. The pass side upper link hits the DS. I'll move the spacers to the correct place over the weekend.

The bug body was bought at a local hobby shop.

That looks alot better. Now you can trim the access material off the top of the mount. That should eliminate it hitting the end of the chassis.

J.H,

I should have it up by then, knock on wood.

Bender thanks for your help. That bracket has a date with my cut off wheel and grinding disk.

I'm a newbie myself but here is what I would do.

1. Buy TLT 1 Kit
2. Buy 55 turn lathe - http://rc4less.safeshopper.com/43/165.htm?105
3. Buy a 2 channel radio http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXASX2**&P=7
4. Buy 98MM Traxxas turnbuckles
5. Buy 2.2 rims (with hexs) / 2.2 Moabs or 2k Mashers
6. Buy a Sw2 chassis www.bendercustoms.com
7. Buy a Pede tranny from http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23673
(when you order the tranny tell them what you are building they will make sure get the correct Spur gear and sliders)
8. Buy a hi torque servo
9. Use the search on rccrawler

Good luck
