Default My first TLT crawler, "SEARCH and Destroy"

So as the name may suggest, this is my first TLT. Actually it's my first hobby grade anything. So it's a little bit of a hack job. Also as the name suggests, all of the information to build it was obtained through exclusive use of the search feature and the young 'uns up at my LHS.

Chopped TLT chassis
Locked Axles
Locked 'pede tranny
'pede shafts
55 turn lathe
2.2 Moabs on narrowed HPI's
Tobee 32mm wideners
Futaba tx, rx and ESC
HiTec 645

Thanks for the comments. Here are a few more pics, but naked.

I also thought about calling it "plagiarized," since many of you will notice your ideas covering this truck.

And what's great, is even though it works ok now, I know that there is a lot of stuff I can still do to make it better.

Looks good, only one mistake I see, you should get metal yokes on the axles!

I think the wheel base comes in right at 13". And according to my handy dandy ruler, it says 90mm uppers and 120mm lowers. But I didn't actually use that when I made them. I just eyeballed them and made them all the same for a 50/50. I figured I could always go back and make it into a 60/40 later.

Did you paint the chassis black or is it the Max Climber chassis?

Either way it looks sweet, not sure how i feel about the body but at least its different.

Yeah, it's a Max Climber.

I wasn't sure how the body would turn out either, and even though I liked the Jeep and Bronco bodies, I wanted something different.

Lamar and Koenig. Today I went out to Bull Creek off 360 and crawled around up in the Warbler habitat. Not far up the trail are some nice ledges. Also went over to St Ed's down Spicewood Springs. Some good stuff.

Where do you crawl?
