Default Anyone seen a TLT axle do this?

I was about to start the finals course at the Green River Bash 2 this past weekend. Turned the truck on and hit the throttle and heard this loud pop and then it was fine, figured the ring and pinion was about to let loose....oh well. The next day I looked at the rear axle and saw this...COOL never saw that before! One of the pins (that holds the spider gear) broke and got shoved throught the rear axle housing. Pulled the pin out and ran it the rest of the day.

That happened to Chino63's red LandCruiser. Pin's poking out yet still working fine. I think he removed 2 pins at least and it still worked after that somehow.

Default Yep

I've got one just like that. I thought it was cool too so I took a pic also. I'll have to post it up tonight. Mine made some nasty noise for awhile before it poked through.

yup! that happened to me too! actually all three pins were shat out the rear end. still worked though. it kinda had a dig on occasion before it would start to engage. kinda humorous. that was the last time i gear locked the rear end. j-b all the way!

Damn Joey , I also heard the pop but it seemed to work after that so i tough it was the pinion and ring gear wearing out on you . you got lucky you where able to run .

oohhh.. that sucks!!!

im surprised it didnt snap your axle shafts.... but, im guessin thats not a 10 bolt in the rear with a built 383 under the hood! C14 all the way!!!

Looks like i will be buying extra parts for my tlt comp rig huh? Im going to need a bigger parts box!

I've got a an axle that has two of those missing and it still runs. When mine broke they didn't push thru the housing but they jammed up inside the case. It's just part of the punishment we put these axles thru.

I can't really remember but I think that it was that same diff that already haD broke the other two pins. The way I have it locked with Quicksteel there is no way for it to slip and come unlocked. Aleast no there is no other pins in it to break.

Hmm, I have been hearing a clicking coming from my rear axle. I just figured it was the yoke.
