| VMG Tuber
Well, I just installed solidworks and have been hacking away at some ideas for a tube frame mini giant. This will not be a crawler. As much fun as crawling is, I'll leave my TLT to do that. This thing is fun when its fast. So, I intend to make a little speed buggy. Here's a sample of a solidworks tubeframe: But I thought of another idea yesterday that I think I like more. But I atleast got to work on some referance models: |

Ok... All I have left is the wheels/tires then I'll start the actual design... Like I said, I thought of something else. Luckily, I will be able to do a bunch of ideas and choose my favorite. Here's the completed axle, and the gearbox for referance. I also have the servo done, but thats such a lame looking piece (a square with a round knob? I think we can all visualize that lol) WOOHOO! |

Alright, I've taken a new direction for the chassis. As I see it, the axles will be floating to the front and rear of the chassis. Nothing above them to get in the way. EDIT: Ok.... I had to throw it together before I went to bed... Here's more of where I am taking this idea: Tomorrow I'll get the tires/wheels modeled, as well as the motor. Chassis has a few width/clearance issues I need to resolve. Yes, I will be running a long front shaft, short rear shaft. I've also decided to use a 3 link system to keep things a little more simple. It will have a pillow ball at the axle, and will be able to only rotate up and down at the chassis. There will be no side to side flex at the chassis. Much like it was in stock setup. |

Gotta build up my portfolio y'know Thanks for the compliment. While I am good at designing, I have ALOT of work to do improving my hand made fabrication skills. Hopefully by making this tuber I can make myself proud.

it looks like the axle on the left is a bit twisted. not a big deal for a drawing. but it would be something that you should tweak

It does look a bit twisted... That's odd. I don't believe it is twisted in the drawing... I'll fix it when I get back down to my house on sunday.
