Default First Build......

Well i ran across this site about 2 months ago and was hooked. About a month ago I stared aquiring the parts I needed to start my build. Well after a lot of trial and error I think my first one came out pretty awesome.

Here we go.. Specs
Modified TLT chassis
Hitec 645
Futaba cr330 ESC
Integy 55t
Moads and RC4WD Beadlocks

For now I used the stock tlt chassis and modified it a LITTLE to fit the pede tranny.

Then I have the chassis all set up with the axles, springs, and drivelines installed

And the body. Being that it was my first one I decided to keep it simple and go with just one color.

Here is the tires and rims that I was going to run. Still going to use the tires but waiting for different rims. Apparently I got the clod style ones, waiting for the right ones.

I trimmed the foams just a little for now to fit the rims a little better, may do more later.

And then the finished project for now. Minus the moabs and rims.

Future mods I am consider...
1. Wheel wideners

2. Tweaking the suspension a little to find the sweet spot

3. May trim the body a little to clear the tires a little better

4. Water proofing it

I think that is it for now.

What do you guys think about the flex? Look good?

I used maxx shocks with associated springs and I think I found a good combination. I was going to get the losi ones that everyone else seems to run but this is the lhs had and I was deperate to get this thing running this weekend with a little better flex.

Looking good. That should look pretty sweet with the rc4wd beadlocks and color matching rings.

One thing I noticed. You are going to want to cut off the nubs on the back of the axle for the servo plate and replace those with 2 more screws (so 4 screws total, per plate). With your upper links mounting to the servo plate you WILL break it off with only the front 2 screws holding it down.

SO your saying to cut the nubs off and then drill a hole through it to put a screw through it. Is this right. You got any pics of this?

That looks like a great first build
also as a future mod you may want to consider trimming the bottom of the chassie for clearance

Actually the tranny is sitting all the way to the bottom of the chassis. So to trim it i would have to move the tranny. The tires that are on it now rub whe it is flex all the way. I think I might trim the body a little so that I can mount it down a little lower so it doesn't look so tall.

ALright, I put 2 more screws in the upper link/ servo mounts. Thanks for the advise.

I can't wait till I get the beadlocks so i can put the moabs on. it will look so much better.

Well I finally got around to getting my RC4WD beadlocks on and getting some real action shots. I lowered the body down about 1 inch and trimmed the fenders a little. I still need to trim the fenders a little more, but for my first build I am very happy with how it came out.
