Thanks! Should have the rest assembled and rolling after christmas.

Right now I can't decide on tires or a body...those seem to be the hardest parts of this build.

Off to a good start. The SW2 is a great platform to work with.

Had some time to work on the truck a bit.

Disregard the lame body resting on top of the body posts...I just didn't want it to look naked.

Can't seem to get the bugs worked out of my spring rates/suspension articulation yet. Wants to just lift wheels instead of articulating.

Rolling Chassis:

What weight oil are you running in the shocks?

Also, it'll climb better if the motor is facing the front. The motor should be on the drivers side, which puts the weight of it in the front half of the chassis.

That's a very good question. I'm not actually sure, I picked them up from the LHS this morning just to have some. Now comes the time to start thinking about all the fine details.

I feel stupid, thanks for the advice though. I was pushing it around earlier like a little kid on christmas morning and had the same thought. I did some searching on the forum and found out I did indeed have it the wrong way....go figure, but it's all relative anyway...just haven't had time to take everything off and put it back on. I'm lovin this chassis though. I've had my eye on it for quit some time now and promised myself I wouldn't build my first TLT without it. I'm hoping to pass this truck on to my kid some day(no kids yet)

How come you got rid of the moabs? They'll probably work better than those tires.

They weren't mine haha.

I haven't decided on what tire I want. For now just using my stampede tires to mock things up. I used the front wheels from the stampede and bought two more matching ones. To make them work I had to drill out the center a bit to be able to bolt them to the truck. Works pretty decent.

Well! She Runs!!

I was going to wait and purchase a Teken Rebel 2 with a nice dual stick radio....but I said screw that and used some electronics I had collecting dust. They aren't the best but they get the job done! Now I'm just having issues with the silly white plastic yokes on the pinion gears coming off. No one has the steel ones...and I'm hesitant on going up to 2.5 shafts because I think I'll have clearance issues with my spur gear.

They are fun. Spent today getting my suspension in order. New oil, springs, pre-load rates and all that jazz. Thing is a crawler now! These stampede tires aren't all that bad either. Haven't de-virginized it on any rocks yet though.

looks good when you get it all sorted out you are going to enjoy the award winning sw2 I sure do, you might want to turn mount your shocks
upside down this helps to lower your cg's.

Here ya go - finished product with losi springs and 20 weight oil in the shocks. The new suspension setup makes all the difference in the world! Would definitely recommend this change.
Moabs, DX6 radio with BR6000 receiver comes next week via USPS.
