Well the parts are finally getting here. Beadlocks are in. TLT Axles are in. I'll have to use a bare chassis till I can pick up mine from the Powder Coaters. Tranny is getting mocked up tonight to the skid. Shocks arrived on Saturday. Moabs arrived on Friday. ESC's arrived on Thursday. TQ3 arrived last Monday. Battery should be on the way and here by Friday. Received the Body on Friday as well. Hoping to have some picks of a Roller tomorrow. |

Spy shot of the tranny mounted. I had a customer decide to go with a blue chassis so I used the Candy Red plates for mine. Not sure what the coater will color the one I was going to use but this works. The bead locks. Last edited by Double J; 02-07-2007 at 10:18 AM. |

Welp I locked everything up last night. So tonight after I work on some other projects I'm going to have to: assemble the axles (letting the JB dry for 24hrs) make the 4links install the shocks get the radio ready for a swith to use the front dig. Install all the electronics make a new battery pack to fit on the front axle. Trim and paint the body (I'm thinking one color so it'd be quick) Basically get it running so I can at least test it and try to tweek before the saturday comp. I won't have any time on Friday to work on it. so it has to be done tonight. Today is going to be a frigin long day.. |

Well I spent a few hours this morning finishing up my VS for the comp today. I was able to work on my stuff from about 2am to about 5:30 this morning. Baby got me up at 6:30 and blah, blah blah. Wasn't able to get the body painted, but I had a beater to use. The test tranny didn't go well at all but it shows some potential in the design. Untill we can work it out I'll be installing an Evader tranny in it in the next few days, inbetween other projects. Well here are the only pics I have. |

they actually had some decent power but the grears just couldn't handle it. I'll be taking it apart in a few days to see if I can make it work. but will ce putting a normal tranny in until I can find a way to either make it work or scrap it. |

Well since I'm at lunch at the moment I thought I'd do a write up about the ericson Beadlocks I purchased from Unimoger. I've been waiting to get my hands on a set of beadlocks for a while and since the price was right I finally got a pair. My first impressions of the locks were outstanding. Just picking them up and feeling how heavy they were gave me a since of comfort that I wouldn't have to worry about breaking these things. The rim and rings were both beafy and doing a fit with no tire on them were perfect. Installation: Easy, but time consuming as with anything with this many bolts. The moabs slid on nice and easy just waiting to be samwiched togeater agaist the rim and ring. I ended up taking about 3/4 - 1" off the foams and did my normal foam cut up. I didn't take pics of these but this is what I like to do with em. As Microgoat stated "they are squishtastic". Once I started to put the rings on I tightened each bolt the same way as you would do when installing a car tire. Tightening in a crisscross pattern untill all were tight. At some point I had to loosen and re-tighten cause the tire would start to get smashed out because I'd start pulling on the tire with out relizing it. After all the hard work I had usable tires on some sweet beadlocks. Since my comp rig wasn't running yet I decided to test them on my Trail Beater (aka Project JJ-M1) I wedged the tire in holes and tried to pull it off the bead as much as possible and the bead held steady with no problem. I also tried to pull it off and I'm good at tearing up things. I thought I was going to rip the tire before the bead would come off. Conclusion: In my opinion these are a must have. The beadlocks add a little weight where it's needed - down low and on the tire. I think the only negetive thing I could state about these is I'm going to need to add a hole or 2 so that I can get some air in them, so they can breath and contour on the rocks better. I've ordered some Mashers and swap hawgs to test them with and see how they work with another tire. how they look on a sweet VS chassis. Last edited by Double J; 02-20-2007 at 01:35 PM. |

OK so I finally finished doing what I needed to do. I had the frame with a 2" wide skid on it and didn't want to have to remake the links and all by adding wider skids and all. so a little modification and walla, a tranny that works. Added some soft bb's to the wheels. About 1 oz in each front tire and 2 oz's in each of the rears. Drove it around last night and all I have to say is watch out! I'll be testing it today in the snow and rain Oh the Vaseline is for Microgoat. Your not the only one bratha Body I'll be using unless I can find the time to paint the other one I have for it. |
