Default The Purple Pimp

First off I want to say thanks to Syco133 for hookin me up with a prototype Pimp Slap to test and be the first to put it out there to ya. The noticable difference between the two chassis is the extra height of the new Pimp Slap, I beleive a half inch makin the overall height installed with mashers 3 3/4. The build was fairly simple, I had to add spacers to the link mount brackets but nothing different from the original Slap setup.

I went with a 2cell lipo pack for a battery because of the limited space to mount one. I was runnin a 55t Axiom for the initial testin but I will be installin a revolver2 tomorrow. Fortunatly the pede trany offers many mounting options for your electrics with some custom lexan brackets.

After the first day of testin (3 hours) I noticed besides the fact that it crawls like a mountain goat, that in the rare instances that it gets hung up it does so on the tranny(only thing hangin out). I decided to fab up a skid plate for it to make things smoother. To make things really smooth I followed BM's lead and Pimped out a 72 C-10 Chevy. Pimp Purple with a gold grill and pin srtipes. This body is freakin thick.

Took it out again yesterday(3 hours) at the SDRCC gtg to test it out against some other models. Did as well as everybody and I beleive better in areas, outclimbs, brakeover is insane enough to stop everyone else cold and it sticks on sidehills like a lizzard. Though the flex seemed limited at first and better in the rear it was startin to loosin up a bit by the second day.

You do have to adjust your drivin skills a little but you quickly learn what its gonna do. My initial thoughts on new Pimp Slap is that its a very clean and easy chassis to work with and very stable and responsive to drive. I will be drivin The Purple Pimp for awhile I'm sure. Only gonna get better I beleive.

Video and updated testin to follow shortly.

Try drilling some 3/32 holes in that backbone if j.b. will let you and it makes a hella diff. But i'd check with him first incase he has a warranty on that thing, But mine's drilled and it was his

The holes are not needed with the new version it flexes more now than with the old style drilled and broken in.As for a release date watch for it sometime this coming week in the vendors section.

Looks great!

I haven't had the chance to drive one of the new ones, I'm still waiting on my driving style to catch up with the old ones first.

The skid work well it don't hang no mo. Just lightend the load up today by stickin in the Revolver2 that was waitin for me when I got home. Didn't realize how small this sucker was about half the size of my hacker and only 20kv difference, it will be well protected by the skid. Now there is a clear shift in weight and it's all forward.

I will be testing extensively the rest of the week. At least that's what I tell my wife, this is serious not play.

Great write up and video raul. That thing was wicked crazy at the GTG. I don't think I am tainted by the pimp yet but if you keep slapping the sh!# out of me I might have to try my hand. HAHA!

Got to take the Pimp out to the desert today for another test run. The revover2 is a great little motor and had more than enough power to take the Pimp to new heights. Still a very stable rig to drive, the pros are climbs well, sidehills well and again the brake over is great. The only con I have is that it is sort of unstable when from approchin climbs from a side angle.

Don't know if it will make the next comp on sunday but it will make one of them.

Desert footage from today.
