| My XRC Arrived yesterday.
Well after a short wait it finally arrived. I was stoked to get this build started. All of the parts arrived as stated. Very well built and the fit and finish is very good. to Dave at Xtreme RC Hobbies. I have never seen these high clearance links before but they are really awesome. Slick as hell and look really stealthy in black. I opted for the 60/40 setup on this rig so the links came to size. As you know I am a huge fan of breakover clearance and this baby has it. 3 1/2 inches and has next to no weight up top. After having a small modification to the skid plate to mount up the stealth I was under way. All of the pieces go together very well. Even without a build doc it was pretty easy to figure out. I was able to get it up to roller status in no time. I just need to connect the drive shafts to the axles, add the rest of the electrics and finish the body for it. For articulation this thing is a slinky. I am going to have to limit the travel of the shocks just to keep it in check. The links are very free moving and smooth as well. I am really looking forward to competing with the XRC this year. This weekend should be fun testing it out on the course for the Vegas WEROCK event and comp we are having. I will post more pics of it in action this weekend. I would highly recommend the XRC. Goto www.xtreme-rc-hobbies.net and check them out. Last edited by FrankyRizzo; 02-16-2007 at 08:02 AM. |

Looks great, limiting the shocks and rotating the pinion up totally takes this chassis to a new level. The cog is excellent. |

Yeah I was there providing moral support while he was building it. Its impressive, it flexes a lot and weighs very little.

A question to you guys with the 60/40 setup. I've been going over mine for a few evenings now adjusting and getting thing squared up... but I'm coming in at 13inches for my wheelbase?? Any ideas on why that would be? When I ordered it I was hoping it would qualify as a 2.2" Crawler, but it's about half inch or just over too long according to the rules I've been reading. |

I had the same problem when I set it up with the links mounted in the holes as they are in the pictures on XRC's site. I ended up moving the rear lower links forward to the next mounting hole to get to 12.5". This also degreed my rear axle which wasn't a bad thing.

I am a little longer than 12.5 because I am running the axle C's so each one adds 1/8 inch to the WB.

Not necessarily. I actually sold it to a guy locally that was wanting to get into crawling with us. So it worked out so we gained another member.

I just wanted to remind everyone that you can now get your XRC full comp chassis at either "The Crawler Store" or "RCP Crawlers". Help support our vendors. We are very excited to have Franky running the XRC and look forward to pushing it's limits further. Thanks Franky! David Xtreme Rc Hobbies |

Last night did some light testing. I added 1/2" limiters to shocks to limit down travel. I had way to much articulation. We will be constructing the course today for the event at the end of the month so I will snap a few pics.

Just more getting it setup and dialing it in. So far I had to cut down shock travel because I had too much art. I am running 2Ks on it and I would rather run Moabs so I might pick up a set today as well. |
