| Dorkstar 2.2 Comp Rig...No tranny!
It occured to me that I've never really posted any pics of my current comp truck. I just revised it with a new aluminum chassis, as well as 'top secret' power system, so it's got more wheelspeed, which it lacked at Nationals. Still running the Moab body though. Stats: -NG Custom machined aluminum, worm gear axles. 25:1. -Aluminum plate chassis -3" traxxas Bigbore shocks -Mamba Max ESC -Dig, which auto-brakes due to the worm gears. -E-flite 32 Outrunner motor, Metal yokes, pede drivelines. -Thunder power extreme 2200mah 3-cell lipo. -Hand Bros Comp-X rings, Tamiya Wild dagger wheels, Mashers w/ extra tread. 12.5" wheelbase 11.5" wide 3.15" center clearance Testing this setup right now- we'll see what changes need to be made. I think a stronger steering servo is in it's future. Thanks for looking! Ryan |

So your driveshafts are just connected directly to the motor?

That is so badass..... I've eyed one of those motors a few times at the local shop, never even considered it given that the Park 400 is a pretty balsy little motor. |

Thanks yall! Yup, the driveshafts are connected right to the Outrunner. It's a BEEFY motor: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=EFLM4032A The axles were hand built by a ORCRC member, who plans to sell them in the next month or so. they are very stout, and the breakage that I experienced at Nationals has been remedied, so now they are truely bulletproof. I'll let everyone know when they are available. The gearing ranges from 12.5:1 to 50:1, and he'll make them any width you want. (Imagine the ground clearance with 40 series Moabs! ryan |

From that link: "High torque, direct drive alternative to inrunner brushless motors" You understood that "direct drive alternative" a little differently than the rest of us, me thinks... awesome man! |

Nice thinking! I have a similiar idea in the works but not quite like that. That's simple. I like it. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 02-27-2007 at 09:41 PM. |
