the body doesnt look bad at all, i have seen some guys that you purple all the time. Anyway, tell us how you like the moped esc. I kind of want a new esc because mine has reverse delay and i didnt think that the mopeds did. Will keep an eye on this build!!

well i'm not a purple kinda guy i just used the color she picked out but any way got it finished today (for now) i still need to get some widners, and build a better chassis

so here is what i got :
baja bug body
moped esc
55t motor
tlt axels
custom made servo and upper link mounts
custom links
custom made drive shafts (metal rod with 2 small tension rods for the t)
tlt stock chassis and tranny locked tranny locked axels (its really nosie)
imex all-t's
lmk what you think
the only thing i think im gonna change is the esc i think they suck for crawling the put now power to the wheels when it comes to a obstical to go over the truck just stalls like the esc is to hot and shuts down but here are the pics

it looks like a stretched tlt. Good job, but it looks like the uppers should be directly bolted to the chassis for more upper triangulation. Maybe not.
Looks good!!

looks good so far. I agree with RC You need to triangulate the upper links. If not the axle will move side to side, and thats no good.

i did that to two motors so far. The first motor fried, and the second motor got so hot the wires came unsoldered, but suprisingly the esc got fried and the motor still worked. I just used a AA batt to check the motor. Just thought i would give you a headsup.
Glad to hear the upper links aren't giving you any trouble!

The shocks will bind a lot less if you mount them inboard of the bracket, with a spacer inside to provide the nessecary structural integrity. So they are parrallel with the frame.
Like so:

Also moving the chassis mounting points of your upper links outboard (triangulate) will cut down on torque roll/steer. Ditch the mounting axle thing for them, replace the stock inside ends w/ some T/E Maxx ball ends (TRA2742X) and bolt them directly to the inside of the chassis plates.

Looks good so far - you can build a fun crawler from the stock TLT chassis, just not quite "comp worthy".
How cool is it to have a girlfriend/wife who actually shares your interests, vs. having your girlfriend/wife try to get you to "stop playing with toys"
Try this belt tensioner modification to help your stock TLT tranny as much as possible:
low-buck TLT...

i broke the little plastic piece that goes in my center diff and keeps the nut from spinning on my tlt tranny by tightening it up too tight. any idea on how to fix it? i tried to just bypass putting the screw in and supergluing the diff to lock it but i guess it broke loose cause i got a front wheel drive tlt right now
