Default tlt axles and All-ts

A buddy of mine just picked up a RTR tlt tuber off of ebay with 2.2 imex all-ts on it. I was just wondering since the 2.2 all-ts are about the same size as a typical maxx tire, will they hold up okay?

They will break axles more than smaller tires, but if driven with finess they will do fine. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming CVD's will do with All-T sized tires.

BTW....I run All-T's on my TLT and have broken axles. You just have to learn to drive a little easier with them.

Just curious cuz i either break a bevel gear, or i just recently broke a stub shaft.

I break the axle it's self where it narrows down to a ball at the end for better steering. The narrowed part significantly weakens the axle.

I've never broken a bevel gear, though have stripped one nor have a broke a stub axle.

The CVD's should cure the problem for the most part since they will be one diameter through the length of the axle. It should make for a much stronger axle.

However, finesse driving can limit the damage done to a TLT when running bigger tires, but breakage will still occur. Using speed and power with big/heavy tires leads to a lot of broken axles.
