Have you checked out the availabe chassis in the vendors section? Just wondering because most machine shops are going to charge an arm and a leg to do the needed programing and machine work to cut out a chassis for you. You might end up paying 60+ dollars an hour at a machine shop.

Hadn't thought of that. I was just tring to be a little different than everyone else. Maybe see some of the other designers out there that have great ideas and want to show them off. Just a thought thanks.

in the vendors section there are a lot of choices...

I would check out doublej and bender to start... I also would look into the shock tower method that some have been doing.

Do you have a dremel tool? You can get a cuttoff wheel and some other attachments that will help in making your chassis.

I know what you mean as my life is all about fabricating things it is just something I have a knack for due to hanging with Gramps all the time.

My biggest problem is not having all the equipment that would help me in my ventures. Right now I live with a dremel tool, hack saw, sawzall, 1 in. bench sander, a few files, drills a torch and a wire feed welder. Oh do not forget good measureing tools.

Hey Rat, you like making things. Me too. I am making shock springs from scratch and you can make links from scratch too. What do you think? What have you made for tlt stuff. I love to learn about other ideas so I share too.

A dremel is a great way to start. You can get a cheap scroll saw too.

Trying to find a local machine shop that is willing to help will be very hard. Normal shops charge up to and over $60.00 a hour. They would not be willing to help unless you are willing to pay the dollars.

There is a vendor in the Vendor section that has a machine shop and will do work for you. Once again it will cost more to build a one off chassis this way.

Stick with a Dremel or buy a chassis in the vendor section. It will save you money in the long run!

Good luck and post pics of your progess,
Tom

liltexmp, I think we all understood where you are coming from, but we wanted you to see the options out there as well. If anything, use them to get a better idea of what you want.

I am gonna hack my stock one for a bit until I can even afford another one.

You never know too, you might find someone locally that will help you out for dirt cheap, I have had offers of help here!
