Default My P4 V2

Well heres the chassis I've been working on for a few months now and I think it's ready to be revealed. As you'll notice it's pretty much a regular P4 with a few, needed revisions (IMHO).
First of all I've shortened the tranny plate to allow mounting the lower links on the inside of the frame. I then set the mounting holes for the upper links at an angle for better clearance, and I've also narrowed the tranny plate as well providing a narrower chassis as a whole. So, not much has been changed but what I think what was changed made a great chassis even better. Well, on to some pics!

I think tomorrow I'll be able to head out to Folsom Lake to get some action pics for you guys.

Looks great!

I liked the way the P4 V1 worked so the V2 should work great.

I like how you placed the trans and motor more towards the front, I wondered how much difference it make by doing or moving it more towards the back, like what the 1:1 guys do.

Nandez, I don't really have a time frame. Kinda just whenever.

Eric113, If you wanted to you could move the tranny plate back. If you look close you'll see two unused holes on the bottom of the side plate. That's so you can mount the tranny forward or back depending on if you like to mount the tranny with the motor endbell facing toward the front or back.

Looking good Tyler
I like the changes you've made.
Are you going to be running a batch of the V2's?
Maybe predrilled for the R2 trannys?

I always wanted the original P4, now i really want the V2! One question though, the hole in front of the rear link mount, doesnt that hole really weaken the chassis? I do realize its a prototype. I think 2 tie bars running above the trans to tie the the front and rear of the chassis together would help quite a bit in the strength dept.

Brushless nut: The chassis will be up for sale really soon. I just have to sell this last one that I have so I'll have some money for more material. I'm running on a pretty tight budget.

Freetimecrawler: Yeah, I'll be running a batch pretty soon here. Within a couple weeks I would imagine. If you need me to hook you up, let me know . For the R2 holes I would need to get a hole pattern first. Some dimensions of the bottom would be great if you could get those for me.

Ditto head: So far no problems. I've taken some pretty big hits and no breakage whatsoever, yet. I appreciate the advice though.

Well here's some pics of today at folsom. Theres not too many because I was having too much fun .

Thanks for the help cole82. I actually just bit the bullet and decided to build a whole 'nother truck with an R2. Pics should be up of the new truck by the end of the week.

Can't wait to see the build up Brushlessnut!
