| The Winding Roads TLT Build Thread I off, first I want to say, what a great forum this is. So much information here for new people like me. Well new to RC rock crawling. I'm far from new to RC's in general. Anyway I'll get to point. I have always wanted a crawler and once funds got stable, I decided why not build one. First off I scored a great deal on a ARTR Clod buster. But looking at the prices to build a super and my terrain, I figured it wasn't going to be the right choice for me and my area. So here I am. A TLT build. Won many parts off of Ebay. Everything but the ELEC gear coming is NIB. Alright less of my words and more on the pictures. |

| So I drove the TLT stock for a week or two to get used to the truck. Then tore it apart, locked the center diff, and the two axle diffs. All Thread rod AL tube to cover All thread 55T lathe motor or other 12T 48P pinion Rubber sealed bearings are in the mail Drive shafts Last edited by Windy Road; 06-18-2007 at 06:20 PM. |

Not a bad start, but I do have one building tip, and this is the most important part of any build. Replace the pepsi with your favorite adult beverage. Makes for a much more pleasant build(minus a finger or knuckle skin of course) Kevin |

Haha thanks guys. Actully I could use help on the driveshaft set up. I know maxx yokes will work on the tranny but what should I use on the TLT axle side. Traxxas metal yokes part number "4628X" Quote:

Well here is a big update I think. Its sort of a roller I guess you could say. Still need to sleeve all the links. Mount my electric gear someplace. Fix the steering and rear lock outs. Had to steal parts of the lock out to make the links. Oh and the big one, get drive shafts. Still haven't truly figured what I want to run yet. Maxx yokes, Maxx sliders, Pede sliders, Metal yokes, its all confusing me. |

BUT... they do require a bit of dremel tool magic and drilling a hole in your axle pinion's shaft to get them to work. but it's still no biggie, though. nice looking build so far, and nice pics! | |

Yes I'm steve from RCdori. Photography is my second expensive hobby of mine. Plus the flash was about the right height to use for that shot so why not use it. Right now I have Jato shafts with metal yokes and plastic yokes. I might order some pede shafts to see if they are a tick longer. The Jato shafts wobble a little. They are stretched out way far. Here is a photo of it complete. It still needs bearings in the axles, which are in the mail to me at the moment. And then I need to tear it apart and thread lock the screws and bolts. Then figure out where I want the electric gear to go. But anyway here is the photo, sorry its dark, my ISO was a little to high. :-( |
