Default SW2 revisited

I just got done building with this rig this weekend and actually got to drive it some. I can say I am really happy with it this time. I ran a SW2 about a year or so ago and figured it was worth another try. This time the set up is completely different than when I ran it before.

I went with the Pede trans instead of the R2 like I was going to use. The only thing I have left to do is buy a stronger servo with more throw than 60 degrees and get my dig built and set up. I wanted to get this rig going and make sure everything was working good before I set up a dig.

Specs:
Pede trans 13/84
TR2 esc
Airtronics 359Z servo 200oz (for now)
SW2 chassis
Duratrax shocks
Losi white springs front
Pede white springs rear
RCP CVD's
RC4WD straight axle kit
Traxxas links 105mm links/TLT uppers
RC4WD super narrow beadlocs BL01's
dig set up (coming soon)

Here are some pics.

your funny.

I have had this chassis forever, probably one of the first ones brought to WA state if not the first.

Looks like a tight setup, do you really think you need more servo?

Yes and no, when I get the dig set up I probably won't. But there is that tiny little bit of more steering I can get with a greater throw. We mostly have boulder fields here in WA state, it can demand a lot of steering power some times when the lines get tight between the rocks.

It's because the competition are mostly running robot servos, and of course, Brittany and I run the 403oz JR

Truck is looking good, Dude. I am counting on you to place better at the comp. We gotta represent the Bender's.

thanks tanis, I did some crawling tonight with Jeremy. I let Jeremy and Peter drive it. They were impressed, and so am I so am I. I will have to admit, this crawler I built this time is the best working rig I have ever had bar none.

The first time I built the SW2 I definitely was way off on the set up. This time it is spot on. This thing is is just blowing my mind on some of the lines I was pulling off tonight, and that is with moabs!!

SW representing strong here!!

Thanks Griz, this rig just plane a$$ rocks!!

thanks man, we need to hook up again, it's been too long. Come on over to a comp, I know you want to. Hook up with tanis for a ride and share the fuel cost. Then you both will make out on the long travel over.

That's great to hear.
The first time I ran my SW2 I had it set up a little funny because of the dig and not knowing much about TLT's. Then i tried a different chassis for a droop setup.
Now I have just done a rebuild with the SW2 and my setup is very close to yours. I hope mine works as good.

If your close to my set up Griz, you will like it. No torque twist to speak of and the link geometry is working real good.

I goofed around and tried many set ups with the torsion thing this past year and wasn't totally ever happy with the way they work. Sometimes you have to reach back to were a guy started in the old school and come up with a new and revised way of doing things.

That's the conclusion I came to. plus you look at Bender and how he always places very well. Up here in WA. tanis is just blowing us away up here also!!

Now I am going to put in some serious driving time and become one of the SW dominate guys to contend with,
at least I hope.

SW army taking over the compitiotion!!!

I took the new rig out yesterday at a GTG. I also have the dig done now and it works great.

I pulled off a -2 and a 5 on the 2.2 courses we set up the first time out with this rig, I like it.

well I have to say, after today's comp, the new and revised SW2 just rocks. If the dig didn't go to crap on the first run, I know I would of done better than 8th, but that is the way the rocks roll sometimes.

I did make 2 perfect runs today with -5's, the first run killed me for the day, but the SW2 is working really killer.

Maybe a SW3 will be next?? stay tuned.

Here are some updated pics of the SW2 I brought back to life after a year on the shelf. I ditched the Moabs and went back to M2k's, 2.2 Moabs just don't work here in WA. state. I also added some stickers for the bling affect.

Udated mods are

Dig set up (finally)
CVD's
Hitech 5995TG servo. ( I took one off another crawler I had)
Kreepy Krawler Pink foams
