Default TM4 - Designer Build Thread!

It's been a long time since I've done a build thread, so here it is...

Heres my new chassis, the Trouble Maker 4~

I got myself some much needed upgrades since my last build.. To list a few,
T2 Trans, new servo, CVDs, knuckles, fat-rocks, shoes and a new radio.

But heres the pictures!

Tell me what you guys think.

Default Nice

That looks pretty sweet so far. Any ideas yet on pricing. Keep us posted on how it does at your GTG. Looking forward to some action pics. Also how about a flex shot.

Why an RX pack and the Tekin ESC? The Tekin should easily put enough for one servo.

chassis looks great!

Looks like your front axle might be rotated up a little too far though...

ditch the springs. and run droop get that chassis nice and low!
ditch the rx pack the tr2 has enough bec to run one servo!
clock that front axle back to get the kingpins parallel to the ground!

and move the esc to the rear axle, and the battery over the servo and on the links, and then you would have a real great CHASSIS!

ALSO get your self some heavy duty velcro and ditch them zip ties son
and get some nice servo tape!

I got that part actually. I'm just waiting for an admin to delete his post because that stuff doesn't belong here.

I really appreciate the suggestions, thats why I posted.

But if I change things, I gotta ask why.
I know why on the droop, still considering.
I have to say I don't really know what your refering to when you say a kingpin, is that the output yokes on the axles? What is the purpose of going more parallel to the ground, better turning radius?
I'll ditch the rx pack.
The reason I didn't want to mount the esc on the rear axle is because I figured it'd be easier to water proof if it was mounted higher up, and it weighs nothing so I figured it wouldnt jack with highsiding.

These are kingpins:

A good reason to keep the caster setting close to zero is to keep the steering linkages up high.

yeah you get a better turning radius because right now you are turning the wheels into the ground
comp rigs dont really see THAT much water well not here anyway in norcal but that little esc and everything starts adding up when up high the lower everything gets the better the chassis will perform! get my drift now

and with the droop set up it will get that chassis down to probably 2'' 2 1/2'' with moabs mounted perfect ride hight!

edit and if you are worried about the esc getting wet a balloon and silicone go a long way!

wow dude nice improvement over the first one

there is a lot happening up front move the esc to the rear and put that lipo over the servo and get your clearance under the chassis to about 2 inches

I like the height on the ESC up front.. if I roll through axle deep water, that height will keep the water off it.. Thats exactly where I planned on putting the lipo.. The clearance is just about 1/8th inch off from 2 inches already. :-)

I think that this is a great looking chassis but I would run it at about 90% droop and have the belly just over 2 inches, maybe 2 1/4

I was considering that.. maybe using the TLT springs, cut them down and use them as internal springs

there is these little spacers in the stock tlt kit that you can put on the shock shaft that will also limit flex and raise the chassis about a 1/4 inch

Why does everything have to be a droop set-up? It still has it's down side's too.
