| Lathe motors: which one?
I have already asked this in the scale 4x4 forums, but I thought I would get a second set of opinions. I have a K2-3S that is in need of a lathe motor. It runs a locked 'pede tranny, rear locked TLT axle, front unlocked TLT axle, and 2.2 Swamp Dawgs. My driving conditions are usually light rock crawling, mudding, and trail riding. I have been told that the amount of torque does not differ between the different lathe motors, but it is the wheel speed that gets faster as the turns get lower. I have a 35T on my wish list right now, but is that too fast? I don't want it to be too slow, because it makes it really frustrating to drive between crawl/mud spots. Anyways, I just was asking what should I get for my truck. all help is welcomed.....Thanks in advance! |

I would say a 35 or 45 would be a good bet.
