Is that the current Tundra Parma offers or an older version, looks different from the photo on Tower, but its not a good photo either.

Well, I'm still working on this thing. I can't help myself.

I have an Axial Scorpion. The thing has about a foot of clearance underneath the skidplate. And sometimes, well, it works better than the J2. I'm not cool with that, so I did a few tweaks.

Reign Products was nice enough to send me their STL upper link mounting plates. These are sweet. For years I had been using their old ones from the original Jefferson kit. Those were thin, and had been bent a few times. These I do not see bending ever, and look great. Thanks Matt!

So I needed to get more clearance underneath the skid plate. There's the easy way of adding preload to the shocks, but then they don't sit mid travel in their 50/50 sag set up. I needed a suspension lift. I had a moment of clarity again.

Not the greatest way of controlling an axle, but we'll see how it works.

EeePee whats the belly height on your rig?

EeePee 09-26-2007 02:17 PM

Thanks Tom, thanks CJ. Hope to beat ya, I mean see ya guys at Billy's Boat Ramp soon.

The ground clearance at the highest point is real close to 3 1/4" at rest.

When at full extension there's 3 3/4" underneath. Don't mind the poor angle...

This is how it would sit without the Hi Lift springs inside the shocks. Maybe a little higher actually.

http://img102.imageshack.us/img102/7728/img8376gw2.jpg

And at full compression there's 2 1/2" at the lowest point, but still 2 7/8" under the rear links.

"thumbsup"

I took second place in the last comp. The new found clearance was definately helping the truck get up the real steep ledges that the Clod Stick/Torsion guys tend to cruise right up.

Thanks EeePee. Curiousity was killing me. I have a jt-22 but use short shocks on it instead of the maxx sized one's.

dieselfuel 09-26-2007 07:16 PM

are those original txt shocks i see?

Yep!

Good eye!

3 1/4 at rest.......hmmm......you've almost got as much as me, but not quite, 3 5/8 at rest. I like the extra belly clearance as well."thumbsup" Is your AX10 box stock, or modified? I would hope modified, if it is hanging with the J2TT.

I like the clearance too. I get the little extra shock extension making it even more clearancey. Seems to really work, really well.

The AX10 is close to box stock. I've bent the rear links, and then flipped them around. One of the ball ends is like, raised up for clearance and the kit's instructions have it placed at the axle end. I have it at the chassis end. A picture? Sure.

The AX10 can make it up steps and ledges none of all my other 2.2 trucks can do. But the J2 drives better.

Cory did you mount the r2 to the skid ?

I have noticed this too about our AX-10. Some guys were trying a ledge this past weekend and they were having trouble, The Ax-10 seemed to go right up it! The electronics and battery are all in the stock locations too.

Yeah, it's kind of cool.

Cool enough to make me change my Comp truck to keep up with it...

eric113 09-28-2007 04:31 PM

Trying to figure out mounting my r2disco .

Rockmuncher 07-18-2009 05:20 AM

You touched this thing recently at all EeePee?

Or does it now just sit collecting dust?

Shane
