Default TLT/F350 Portal Axles II

Here are the Version II Portal axles. I did a side by side with stock axles. I have not tried these out. Waiting on a chassis for them. They add the extra height. They eliminate some steering throw. They do however work with the Axial Beadlocks.

Side by Side

Room for the Axial beadlocks.

Width.
This shot is with the Junfac widners. These add 1" to the width.

This shows the width of the Portals. They add 1-1/4".

Height
Stock set-up.

Portal's

Steering throw.
Here is what hurts when using the Portal's. The steering throw is limited. I did measure and make sure that they were both the same. The Portal's are on the axle in the back.

Hope this helps anyone looking at purchasing these. They will make a great addition to my scale truck.

i can see them being useful in scalers but doubt theyll be popular in competition. you cant use them with CVDs, they limit steering, and they look waay too wide.

Agreed. I had the first style set in my comp rig. They lasted 3 min. I would never pick these over CVD's. They will be great for a Scale rig. The extra room under the pumpkin will help.

Not a bad idea to put them just in the back.

Only problem with throwing them just on the rear, is they have reduction in the portals, which will make the front end a different gear ratio.

Wouldn't the rear wheels turn the opposite of the front if you used portals in back?

Yes but a simple axle flip would salve that!

But also stated was they add reduction, and well im not impressed at all had them on the scaler they are now gone because i drive my scaler not shelve it!

Any chance you can take them apart and get some pics of the gears for us!

Insides!!

The top gear is what went on my first set. The grooves on the shaft and inside of the gear stripped. That has not been changed much. I was told that the grooves are deaper. However, for my scaler they should have no problem.
