I've spent the last couple of evenings planking around trying to get my cobra sorted, but i just can't seem to get it dialed. wheelbase is 12" dead, height to the base of the tranny plate is 4" dead - ie. abit high. Links are all home made, upper link attachment/servo plate is are twinset's, lower link/shock mounts are g-made/junfac's. Also using junfac wideners Rear links areslightly shorter than the front ones: 9cm & 12cm front, 8cm & 11cm rear. Shocks are tmaxx. Any constructive comments would be most helpful. cheers, ds |

Use shorter shocks, around 3" if you want to stay sprung. Personally I would go droop with the cobra setup. Remove that front bumper, it will do nothing but harm. Try and level out your front axle, in the picture it looks overclocked a bit. Get your wheelbase out to 12.5", I know it seems like a small amount, but in 1:10th scale crawling- every little bit helps. Other than that; looks good. edit: with that motor and tranny combo- you might wanna look into metal yokes. |

As Mr pink said, strech it out to 12.5", makes a big difference, drop it to around 3" BC if you stay with a sprung setup, and then find shorter shocks to accomodate that height. Or use thoe shocks, but in a droop setup, which I believe that chassis was designed around. Maybe send Beckworks a email and ask for setup suggestions also. Looks good by the way. |

I agree w/ mr. pink - That rig is just begging to be "drooped"... Last edited by Big Mike; 09-06-2007 at 07:40 AM. | |

Hi Mr. Benn! You defiantly need some shorter shocks, or just try droop. The chassis was designed to favor droop. You would be the first to use sprung, that we know of, and we are anxious to see how it turns out. Otherwise it's looking great! I hope this helps Please let us know if there is any other way we can help. Amber |

Thanks fellas. I already have traxxas steel yokes on the transmission output end, will upgrade the others as and when In the mean time - i'm going to try and find some shorter shocks this afternoon (if i can get out of the office) - which should reduce the ride height and therefore the drive line angles. Need to read up on droop - seen set-ups using it, but until i do a search, i've no idea what's involved… |
