| My TLT-10 "Tuff truck/Rock crawler"
One of my goals was to keep the truck fun. Box stock the TLT was one of the funnest RC's I've ever driven. In this form it drives almost exactly as it did when it was stock. I still need to get some softer springs, thinner oil, lock up the front diff and raise the body in the front just a little. After that it should perform very well I gotta thing for those Tamiya Lightning Bodies and I didnt think twice about hacking one up for the crawler... Gonna run stock Maxx shocks until my AE Piggybacks come in @ the LHS. I used 4-40 threaded rod for to make the mock up links and will either transfer the measurments to aluminum rod or have em made later. I also used a piece of threaded rod for the shock mounts and a set of dog bones from an HPI EMT. Other than that, the truck uses all stock parts. The wheels are a set off of a Kyosho Dodge Ram. I narrowed them on both the inner and outer beads. I love my wheels, I dont care if everyone has em or not, they are perfect for this build. I painted the truck last night, nothing special since it is gonna get beat to death. Pics to come. I use the stock center ball diff, Beachernaut locked it up with balsa wood and CA and I threw some Plastic Welder over that so it is pratically one solid piece now. The truck wheelies on command and I feel confident the diff will hold. For now, the rear diff is locked with Blue Tac but I will probably either open it back up or just go ahead and lock up thr front too. |

They're narrowed kyosho wheels, its in the 4th paragraph. You would need 2.2 truck wheels, super nitro wheels, or pajero/hummer wheels. You can't take normal touring car tires and slap 2.2" truck tires on, the wheel is a different diameter than the tire bead. If you go with super nitro wheels, you'd need to get buggy tires. |

I'm new to this site so i'm catching up on the past post...this truck looks great! Nice and clean and 'real' looking. I love the Geolanders, got 'em on my RS4 MT2, probably the most scale off road tires available for 2.2 rims.

Which dogbones from HPI are they... part numbers would be great. All I can find are the http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXM844&P=Z 86mm length dogbones PN A554. Also, what length are the links you used in mm's? Thank you, E |

Those dogbones are most likely what he was talking about, the MT uses the same ones all around. I really like the scale look of that thing, those shots look realistic despite the servo poking out! |

Hey is your truck stock length or is it streched? And what is wrong with the maxx shock? What are the best shocks to get? Thanks |

compare a picture of his truck to a stock one and i think you could answer you own questions about the length.
