This is one nice looking crawler "thumbsup" I can't wait to see it in the Spring.

Brandon88 11-15-2007 08:13 PM

very nice and clean awesome job!

SACCO 11-16-2007 05:05 PM

your servo linkage to the dig just helped me a ton. I have the servo mounted the same way, but not the linkage. NICE!!!

Racer4Life 11-17-2007 03:27 PM

DRCMAN...I think Courtney may be running this rig next season. :)

Sacco... glad it helped!;-)

I have been wanting to try this thing on the rocks with the droop set-up, but there has been no time!:-(

Thanks!"thumbsup"

Hey Tom, I would expect nothing less from a man with such a well organized shop area another clean build.I look forward to more photos....Norm

Racer4Life 11-28-2007 05:41 PM

Thanks guys. I finally got the truck out to run the droop set-up. Actually Brandon begged me to go rock crawling, so I ditched work early.;-)

Not sure about the droop set-up. I need to make a delrin skid plate for it. The chassis underbelly got hung up really bad, and wouldn't slide over the rocks very well.

It meets all the standards set for the rules in place for Crawling.

12" long, 4-1/2" wide a the base, and 4-3/8" tall.

I got those, just need time to throw some good paint on them.

The chassis is good and beefy. It is a heavy chassis, that is why I think the droop set-up is best for this chassis. Great welds, and a nice Powder Coat job. This chassis will take a hit, or a big fall for sure.

I saw that they are going forward with one of your chassis designs. That's good to see."thumbsup" I may have to try it out too.

Tom

Great job , that is a really sweet looking crawler

Where did you get the Delrin links? they look killer

great color combo

a longer skid that is (HDPE, Delrin, thin steel, should help

Are those Portals strong, how do you like them, is it worth it :?: looks great

I bought the delrin from MSCdirect.com. Cut and made them myself.

I hope a thin delrin skid will help.

I have not really been able to test the Portals in a good comp type situation. They are worth it of you have a rig to put them on.

Cool , keep us posted on it's capabilities , changes weaknesses

oh , do those portals help on gear reduction ?

so far I'm dispointed in rc4wd, very weak stuff

The Portal's do reduce the gearing. It can help, but it can hurt too. I keep the throttle expo turned up so I can throttle out of some situations.

RC4WD has been making parts for over 8 yrs. They do have some flaws, but as with any growing company they will have growing pains. This is a very fast growing part of the hobby, and they want to be the first with everything if they can. They have mouths to feed too.

JakeSpeed 12-08-2007 10:54 PM

Looks really nice !!!!! The black and red are catchy.

F250 12-08-2007 10:58 PM

How much ground clearance do the portals add?
