Default hustler questions.winch and batterys????

o.k first question.I see some guys running 2/3aa batterys on there crawlers,I am building a 2.2 hustler(not sure if I'm going brushed or bl yet)
do thet have enough output? and what kind of runtimes are you getting?
second question,is it worth putting a winch(for pulling down front susp)on a droop type setup? I've seen guys with droop 2.2 hustlers and a winch, just cant rap my head around it enough to decide if it'd be worth the effort on a droop.....thanks crawlers and remember keep crawling FUN!

Im currently running a CrawlMaster/Mamba Max with 8t pinion in an R2 tranny w/ an A123 2300mah 3C 9.9V and I get about 45 mins to 75 mins of runtime, depending on speed. Which isnt very fast anyways, but I have UNSANE torque.

By "pulling down the chassis" what exactly do you mean? Pictures?

The suspension setup for droop is to move the springs inside the shock bodies to pull the chassis towards the axles creating pressure/traction on the opposite wheel from the fully extended shock.

super
integy lathe 55t
6 cell sub C
1 hr 15 or so run time

Why use a winch to pull chassis if using Droop susp ?

Droop is just that,.. chassis is sitting down/low

if not doing droop then use servo to suck chassis down for steep climbs

What's the gain of Droop again besides the better COG ?

some people use it to keep their front suspension from unloading when side hilling or climbing verts.

Exactly. As low as TINY is, I still get some lift up front when it gets seriously steep. I will have a winch on mine as well if I don't install dig.
